Alan Emmins is a freelance journalist who was born
in England in 1974. After living in New York he relocated to Copenhagen,
Denmark. Alan’s texts and images have sold worldwide and cover
a wide range of topics, from point of interest features to investigative
journalism. His texts have been translated into many languages including
Japanese, German, French, Spanish and Danish. Accompanied by his
images his stories have appeared in GQ, The New York Post, Stern,
Playboy, The New York Daily News, Politiken, Berlingske Tidene and
others. Alan is currently working as the managing editor of the
fiction magazine and website Spoiled Ink, but still continues to
travel and write features for worldwide publication.
Alan Emmins sleeps on the streets of New York for 31 days. When
writing a feature about murals painted under the pavements of Manhattan
by homeless artists, Alan Emmins was challenged by a homeless dancer
to try homelessness himself to understand what he was writing about.
He took up the challenge. His diary about the people he met reveals
an invisible world, full of surprises. Buy;features & reviews
